Harvey's Lake Public Beach

Harvey’s Lake Public Beach is owned and operated by the Town of Barnet. The beach area is located in the Village of West Barnet on Harvey Mountain Road. The beach area consists of approximately 250 feet on frontage on the north shore of Harvey’s Lake. There are picnic tables with grills nearby and a sheltered area for use in case of rain. There are changing rooms with toilets at the check-in area.

• Dates of Operation: Mid-June to Labor Day
• Hours of Operation: Monday through Sunday 9a.m. to 5 p.m. There are no lifeguards on duty after 5 p.m.
• Beach Fees:
  • Daily Pass:
    • $2.00 per person
    • No charge for over age 65 and under age 5.
  • Weekly Pass:
    • $15.00 per family. Limit one family per household, up to six members; $2.50 additional thereafter.
  • Season Pass:
    • Residents/Taxpayers: $25.00 per family. Limit one family per household, up to six members; $4.16 additional thereafter.
    • Non Residents: $45.00 per family. Limit one family per household, up to six members; $7.50 additional thereafter
  • Pavilion Rental:
    • Normally $45.00 per day, plus daily beach use fee for any person not having a season pass.

Famous French oceanograher Jacques Cousteau first experienced underwater diving at Harvey's Lake when he visited as a child. Cousteau died on Wednesday, June 25, 1997. He was considered by many to be "the father of the enviornmental movement".
